Kent Barn

Set in an area of outstanding natural beauty, this 18th-century barn received planning for conversion and change of use to a residential annex within the grounds of Grade ll listed farmhouse in Kent.

Following the great storm of 1987, much of the barn was reconstructed, however, the original main frame sits strong with the carpenter’s markings still visible on the frame joints.

All of the original features have been retained with the careful insertion of a staircase, bathroom and kitchen to create a 2 bedroom property.

The cart entrance door is fully glazed to preserve the agriculture appearance of the building with the original doors hung on either side.

Developed in collaboration with interior designer Gabriella Björk Gabbitas.
